Stan Abrams: President/CEO

Stan Abrams is San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union’s (METRO) President & Chief Executive Officer. Stan Abrams comes to METRO with over 40 years tenure in the credit union industry – primarily serving within the management and executive ranks. He earned his bachelors degree in business management from Auberdeen University in Boise, Idaho.  Stan is also a graduate of the Executive Program from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and a graduate of Western CUNA Management School at Pomona College in Claremont.

During his career, he spent nearly 15 years as CEO of Partners (formerly VISTA) Federal Credit Union, which serves Disney employees. Since 2004, Abrams has been principal of his own consulting firm, Abrams and Associates Consulting, Inc.
Throughout his credit union career, Abrams has held volunteer positions, including the boards of the California Credit Union League’s San Fernando/Antelope Valley Chapter and the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation serving four years as Chair. In addition to his work with credit unions, Abrams also served on the boards for both Consumer Credit Counselors of Los Angeles and Southern Council of the Credit Union Executives Society.

Chris Lamb: Vice President, Marketing and Operations

As Vice President of Marketing and Operations, Chris Lamb has oversight of Branch Offices, the Phone Branch, all Marketing activities, including Business Development and e-Commerce as well as Risk Management  and Support Services.

Chris is a strong addition to the METRO team having served in executive management capacities as an Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer and Senior Vice President of Branch and Call Center Operations, Lending, Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations, Strategic Planning, Human Resources, Facilities, Risk Management and Collections for other credit unions.

Most recently, Chris was the COO of NuVision Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Huntington Beach, CA., with $1.2 billion in assets and 16 branches, serving employees of Boeing.  Prior to that position, she served as the COO for E-1 Credit Union in the Los Angeles area (serving employees of the Gas Company) for over 12 years before its merger with NuVison Federal.   Chris also was a senior executive with two San Diego-based credit unions - North Island Credit Union for over 15 years and San Diego Navy FCU for more than three years.

Chris has also served her communities as: President of the San Diego & Imperial County Chapter of the California Credit Union League (CCUL); an eight-year Member of the Operations, Sales and Service Council for the  Credit Union National Association; member of the East County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, South Bay Economic Council Board of Directors and East County Regional Economic Council; President of the Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce; and member of the Executive Council for Business Development for the CCUL.

Chris is excited about joining the METRO team and being part of our rich heritage of providing excellence in service to members and employees.


Rebecca Ramos-Arzola: Vice President, Human Resources

Rebecca Ramos-Arzola has over 23 years of experience in human resources, and 18 years within the credit union industry. She is currently the Vice President of Human Resources at SDMCU and oversees all of the human resources functions, including recruitment, learning & development, compensation systems, new employee orientations and human resource and personnel policies and programs.

Rebecca attended the University of Illinois at Circle Campus and is also a graduate of the Western CUNA Management School. She has the designation of Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Rebecca enjoys the San Diego weather, especially due to the fact that she was born and raised in Chicago. She has one son and enjoys reading and time spent outside gardening.


John Stabler: Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

John Stabler oversees the Information Technology, Accounting and Facilities areas as Vice President and CFO at METRO. John graduated from the University of California at San Diego. John has more than 28 years experience in the financial institution industry, the last 15 in the credit union industry.

John is a southern California native and enjoys bowling and golfing.


Marshall Tanneberger: Vice President, Lending

As the Vice President of Lending, Marshall Tanneberger oversees consumer and real estate lending, collections, lending research and development and compliance. With over 16 years in the credit union industry and a former career in engineering, he brings a unique and qualified skill set to METRO.

Marshall was born and raised in Floresville, Texas, and in 1977 he graduated from St. Mary's University. He currently lives in San Diego and is married with four children. He enjoys rock-collecting, gardening, and coaching youth athletics.
